Information we collect

The app may collect and process information needed to provide the merchant workflow, including:

• Merchant setup, contact, workspace, support, timezone, and buyer form configuration data.
• Shopify shop and session data needed for authentication and app operation.
• Buyer application business details, contact details, tax or permit details, and update messages.
• Uploaded resale certificates and optional supporting documents submitted by buyers.
• Merchant review decisions, buyer records, renewal or expiry metadata, and manual follow-up status.
• Approval packet metadata and generated packet artifacts used for merchant recordkeeping.
• Billing, usage, plan, account status, and support communication information.

How we use information

The app uses collected information to support:

• Wholesale buyer application review and merchant recordkeeping.
• Resale certificate and supporting document organization.
• Buyer update requests and merchant review workflows.
• Approval packet exports for merchant records.
• Billing, usage limits, support, troubleshooting, security monitoring, and privacy request handling.

The app does not automatically change Shopify customer records, tags, tax settings, metafields, or checkout behavior.

Storage and access

Uploaded documents and packet artifacts are stored in private object storage. Merchant-facing access is routed through authenticated app routes and merchant review controls. Uploaded documents are held for quarantine and manual review before they can be released for merchant review, download, approval use, or packet export.

The app validates file type, size, and file signature before storage, but it does not claim that uploaded files are safe, clean, virus-free, legally valid, or compliant.

Shopify privacy requests

The app includes handlers for Shopify privacy and compliance webhook requests, including customer data request, customer redaction, and shop redaction topics. Verified requests are scoped to the Shopify shop that sent the webhook and are handled according to the app's stored records and operational privacy process.

Product boundaries

Arc Wholesale Approval supports recordkeeping and merchant review. It does not provide legal or tax advice, validate certificates, guarantee sales-tax compliance, certify uploaded files as safe, automatically approve buyers, automatically update Shopify records, or submit information to a government or tax agency.
